The biggest help we need right now is people to post flyers and get sponsors. Businesses that are willing to donate something and/or for a sponsor fee we make a sign with their logo to place out the day of event. Of course, we need the word spread! Anyone you know with a bike get them to come. At the Feb meeting we will finalize the team and start meeting once a month to divide and conquer.

Michael sent me the finished "Chrome Show" flyer, and asked me to post it for everyone to check out. Mikey did the usual over-the-top, awesome job with the design and graphics for the flyer. Michael and Mikey..............thanks again for all the work and creativity that went into making the Chrome Show flyer top shelf!!!!

Re:2010 Bike Show 6 Months, 4 Weeks ago
Ok, so I totally neglected to talk to Jason about setting up an email account for people to register for the Chrome Show until I saw the flyer. I just talked to him about it, and he said there are two options:

1. Go ahead and set up the email account (chromeshow@star275.com)
OR

2. He could create a separate form for online registration by either placing a link to an online form on the home page OR by creating a separate web page strictly for registration (i.e. chromeshow.star275.com).

I'm not sure who is in charge of keeping track of participants, but it would be way easier to have an online form rather than having to sort through masses of emails!

That's OK Patsy..............you have been forgiven! (It's not like you don't have anything else to think about besides the Chapter related stuff!)

I'll talk with Michael and see what he wants to do. Personally, I agree that an online registration form would be the better choice. It would be easier to track, and it would give the participants an option to print out their registration, so they (and us) have a record of it on the day of the show.

Thanks for the update...........and don't forget to tell Jason thank you again for helping us out.........we would be lost without his expertise!

Thanks all for the excitement about this and a special thank you to Mikey and Jason and your big brains.

This event can be a springboard to many great years for our chapter and everyone should be proud of themselves for each and every part they plan in it. We each have our individual strengths that will shine here as they have before and together we will make a difference in a lot of lives.

Remember, right now it is all about sponsors and business donations. The goal is to raise enough to cover costs of trophies, food and utensils, signage, printing costs, etc. I will work on getting some rough numbers together over the next week. Also anything we can get donated of the above items or for raffles and auctions the better. Once we get the costs covered it's smooth sailing.

Again thank you all for you input and excitement. This will take all of us to be a true success. We don't need money from members to pull this off, but we do need passion!

Thank you all! We love you all!

Michael

I agree that the online form would be easier to deal with and agree that should be the way to go.

Should we also have the email address setup as well and forwarded to ??? so that any questions about the show could be answered?
Otherwise I don't see any phone number or contact info for questions.

Also, looking WAY into the future... How do we deal with a potential rainout? Reschedule?

We will have a phone number/email address, or both, on the registration webpage in the event anyone has questions.

Roland, you are the first one to mention a rainout.........so, if that happens, it's your fault for the negative MoJo!

We haven't discussed inclement weather plans, but we will.

Ok, the registration form has been created and published.

www.star275.com/index.php?option=com_jfo...p;id=1&Itemid=25

or click "Chrome Show" in the menu to the left.

When someone fills it out, an email that contains the submission data will go to Kevin and the submitter. The registrant will need to bring a printed copy of their email. The email will include a random token that we can use to compare to their registration data on the day of the Show. I doubt it's needed, but it will help make sure no one creates a fake email.

If I left off any fields from the registration form or need to tweak it in anyway, let me know.

If we're ready to start accepting registrations, I'll make a link to the form on the home page. So, on the flier we can just direct them to www.star275.com

Edit: Oh yeah, I also created an email address that questions can be directed to. c h r o m e s h o w at s t a r 2 7 5 dot com

...without all the spaces (trying to protect from SPAM). I can have emails sent to this address forwarded to whoever wants to answer them or you can login to the email address and read them online.
