Welcome to STAR #275

I generally like to go with OE products but Yamaha/Star does not produce a quick mount windshield for my V Star 1300 and the one they do offer is pretty darned expensive....

I'd like the flexibility to be able to take it off for the shorter cruises around town but put it on for the longer rides at highway and interstate speeds...

Looking for thoughts/opinions on the better after market brands out there....I know Memphis Shades is one example....anyone have experience with any others...

Definitely want a good quality product that is going to fit up well just maybe not $600 like the OE fixed mounted shield Yamaha has available....

Travis, I put a National Cycle "Switchblade" quick release shield on Angie's Honda Shadow, and she likes how it works. It is short enough to see over the shield, yet it deflects the wind and bugs up and over her head, as it should. It doesn't cause any undue wind "buffeting" of your head, which is a plus. Below is a link to their website, so you can take a look at what they offer. The shield and mounting hardware are good quality, and it's a breeze to take on and off. Just a quick snap, and it's on........just a slight tug, and it's off. Very nice unit for the money, and a whole lot cheaper than the factory setup from "Momma Yamma".

National Cycle Windshields

My nephew just put a Memphis Shade Pop Top on his 1100 vstar. Looks really good and with the quick release kit it's under two bucks.
